Give the Gift that Gives Back

By |

Has the festive bug bit you yet? Feeling especially altruistic? Looking for a meaningful act of generosity?  Consider making a charitable donation in any amount to Townshippers Research & Cultural Foundation. TRCF – also known as Townshippers Foundation – is a home-grown philanthropic organization working year-round to support groups and individuals across the Townships by offering grants to local, grassroots organizations and projects in heritage, arts, health, social services, education, and research.

Funds donated to the foundation now are used in a variety of ways to help Townshippers of all ages. This year your money fuelled more than 20 projects including the tutoring/homework program from Phelps Helps, educational programs for caregivers from Mental Health Estrie and helped the Brome County Historical Society to purchase display-enhancing equipment. To maximize the community impact our operating budget is kept to a minimum.

Townshippers Foundation and Townshippers’ Association both share a building, a history, and, occasionally, resources, but it’s important to note that the two sibling organizations are very different and are each governed by an independent volunteer board of directors.

The Foundation is solely funded through gifts and bequests received from donors like you, and yes the Foundation is a registered charity which means you will receive a receipt for all donations over $20. Also accepted are donations you’ve bequest in your will and, new this year, stocks and bonds. Please call ahead to make arrangements.

When looking to make a charitable donation, consider giving to Townshippers Research & Cultural Foundation so that those funds can be invested back into our community. Donate online, it’s fast, easy and secure, at TownshippersFoundation.ca. Mail cheques to Townshippers Research & Cultural Foundation, 100-257 Queen St. Sherbrooke, QC, J1M 1K7. Questions?
